My Rules for Newborn Sessions with Older Siblings 1) Siblings aren’t required to be in the photoshoots - I let the siblings take the lead. 2) It’s totally okay to start a session during nap time for the sibling to give parents a little time alone with the newborn. 3) I try for a photo of the children together, but never push. I don’t want someone to accidentally GET pushed 🫣 4) I offer to get solo shots of the sibling and family shots without newborn so everyone feels special! 5) I bring an assistant with me to newborn sessions with siblings so that there’s always someone available to watch the older sibling(s) and offer some play breaks. 6) Bribes and snacks are always OK in my book!
