When I was in my early twenties Angela Lansbury gave me juicy parts in both an episode of Murder She Wrote and a TV movie starring her that shot in Ireland called The Love She Sought. AND she invested money in a play I was in to help keep it running! I loved her as a kid when I saw her in The Harvey Girls, The World of Henry Orient, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Gaslight, and Bed-knobs and Broomsticks. But I came to worship her when, at the ripe old age of 13, I got to see her bring down the house live on Broadway in Sweeney Todd. I still youtube her and Bea Arthur doing Bosom Buddies at the Tony’s whenever I need a lift. We will not see her like again—not the elegance nor the wit nor the sheer raw talent.
