I think it’s time I show my face around here. Hi everyone, I’m Caitlyn. It’s taken 31 years, but I have finally found my passion!! About 4 months ago, I had this crazy idea to try out photography. I got a new camera for my birthday and literally dove in head first. I started asking (begging) friends and family to let me take their pictures shortly after! I’m a learn by doing type of person so those first few photoshoots were pretty rough but I learned so so much from them. Fast forward a few months later and here we are! I no longer have to beg people to let me take their pictures so we’ve come a long way 😂 Since I’ve picked up my camera for the first time, my mind has been totally occupied with 2 things: my kids (first and foremost) and photography. I’m constantly searching for that good light and eyeing places like “ooooh that’s a cool spot for pictures”. It’s constant haha. I’m so dedicated learning more and more about this art and I’m fully motivated to get better and better. Here’s the part where I’m going to get sappy, like an Oscars award speech. I just feel like I need to give some special shoutouts to some of the people who have supported me this far and believe that I can do this. My family for giving me my camera. @hayleysexton and @averyskins for always being down for practice photoshoots, even when I was shooting in the dark (figuratively and literally). And mostly @drewrporter for taking the single dad role on the days when I’m out at sessions, being my harshest critic and my biggest fan. I love you all and I wouldn’t be able to do what I love without you! Ah now I feel silly because I haven’t even achieved much yet. But they still deserve a shoutout. Literally everyone who has allowed me to take their pictures so far deserves a shout out and a big thank you. I’m so happy that I’m here and I get to do this. This is only the beginning. I have soooo many ideas for the future! The learning never ends and I’m 100% here for it. Hope you are too🤍 Now here’s some pics of me and a camera 😂 I’m clearly more comfortable behind the lens.
