“You’re so brave” a distant family member said to me a few weeks ago. She had been following my blog on social media, seeing all of the photos of me hiking up mountains and dangling my feet off of ledges. 🏔 And I paused for a second. Because for as long as I’ve been alive, I’ve never considered myself a particularly “brave” person. 🤔 If she could have only seen me trying to surf the other day, yelling at my boyfriend while waves pounded against my body. A look on my face like I was ready to cry. 🏄🏻‍♀️ But then I remembered, I’m frequently scared when doing a lot of the things that I do. I’m a little scared when I’m packing up my carryon, ready to take on the world on a solo trip. I’m a little scared when I’m trying a new backpacking route, especially if that route is home to a few bears. And I’m a lot of scared when I’m hopping into the ocean with a 9ft long surfboard to take on some west coast waves. 😰 But I do it anyway. And that makes all the difference. #dothingsthatscareyou 💪🏼 When was the last time you tried something that scares you? PS.
