It’s gonna take some time for me to process all of the magic of the last two weeks at @ojaiplays...just wanted to say thank you to everyone who encouraged me throughout this process. To write and perform my first play is something I never dreamt of doing - and was very intimidating - but now, I can’t imagine not using my voice this way. The synchronicity - finding my writer zone - not letting Covid break the stride of the team - bringing myself back to a place of focus and courage - allowing others to help me and realizing how many people are rooting for me from near and far...the feedback, notes and encouragement from my esteemed colleagues - some of whom have been following this journey for the past year...and to know that my story matters...my voice matters...and that days after my performance, people would still be debating my work and having tough but necessary conversations...grateful doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel today. And this is really just another chapter in this Suburban Black Girl’s journey. Stay tuned...😉🙏🏾🌟
