White House COVID-19 official Dr. Ashish Jha said Thursday that Americans should still be cautious of COVID-19 as the virus evolves "very rapidly." "Is COVID going to disappear? No. Probably going to be with us for the rest of our lives. But that should not necessarily be a scary or bad concept," Jha said in conversation with Sen. Bernie Sanders. "We're gonna have a whole new generation of vaccines this fall," Jha said. Jha's comments come as the CDC lifts some of its COVID-19 guidelines, telling Americans they no longer have to social distance and self-isolate after being exposed to an infected person.
