A visit to Pompeii can be both fascinating and overwhelming. But if you know how to look, you’ll find traces of daily life there that will lead to a surprising discovery. ~~~~~ History: During 79 A.D. Mount Vesuvius, a volcano near the Bay of Naples in Italy, erupted burying the ancient Roman city of Pompeii under a thick carpet of volcanic ash. Nearly 2000 people died during the eruption and was preserved under 2 million tons of ash. The ruined city remained frozen in time until it was discovered by a surveying engineer in 1748. What a site to see!!
