My friend and I once made a night of going around chanting “BORING! BORING! STUPID! STUPID!” at everything that fit the description such as empty bar stools, or the car dealership on the corner, or the cheap-looking condo buildings that had taken over our old Seattle neighborhood. I feel like I could chant this at half the internet right now. I think it’s part of the creative process. I think the trend has been positivity for a long time now and maybe it’s because we needed it then. But right now I just kind of want to point my finger and yell “NO” at everything that feels too new, and yet also at everything I’ve been seeing on repeat for so long. Sometimes nihilism is an important component of regeneration. Life is all about change. What changes are you lost in the middle of right now?
