Two weeks ago I was feeling a lot of regret about my past self, and realized I haven’t helped enough people in my life, so I decided to take action. God called me to take a 2 week break from work, go off the grid, and go help others in need. So I decided to fly into my birthplace and go help people in need. I locked my phone away (besides 8 total hrs) to get rid of distractions & grow my faith in God. It was the most fulfilling trip of my life: The first service venture I did was I helped chaperone The Bridge Summer Camp in inner city Harrisburg. This camp was a place for kids w/ tough backgrounds to go learn life skills and self develop into outstanding men & women. It was an eye opening experience for me. Hearing some of these kids backgrounds really made me realize how grateful I am and that giving back is what I need to do w/ my life. Seeing the smiles on these kids’ faces was more fulfillment than I have ever gained from partying or making money. In just 8 days, I felt like I made a difference in multiple kids’ lives. Shoutout to the legend @garry_gilliam for letting me be a part of it. Garry is doing some special things 🙏🏼 I am now a mentor for a 12 yr old kid named Josiah Bugg. My goal is to be the big brother he never had and help guide him to make the right choices in life. God blessed me w/ this opportunity. When I was volunteering, a 13 and 16 year girl were both shot within a mile of the camp. It puts things in perspective how short life can be and how precious every one of us are. Hug your loved ones and fix any relationships that are broken. Life is too short. The second service venture I participated in was helping out at Downtown Daily Bread, a homeless shelter in downtown. The work they are doing is unbelievable. They help keep people alive every day. I helped make 150+ backpacks for kids in need, as well as gave clothes to the homeless. Most of us do not have to worry about where our next meal is, while others suffer to find food/water, this is something we all need to fix. I am posting this to inspire others to help and make a difference. God is amazing, but he needs people like you and me to answer his call every single day.
