A MUCH NEEDED DISTRACTION!! With so much going on with the planning of the funeral arrangements for Pops, I needed to veg out. So I decided to race the @ocmtb_races, I’d heard so many wonderful things about these races, from them being high intensity, to all inclusive for all riders, to the A+ course conditions.. Trust me when I say, it was those 3 and so many more. With all the heavy hitters from the OC and San Diego in the field, I had very little expectations. I haven’t been on my bike consistently since Pops passed, so my main objective was to just ride hard and have fun, very simple.. Ended up finishing 23rd out of 80 total riders, and 5th in my age category (50-59).. And for those of you who don’t believe in Guardian Angels, there were at least 7 times I easy could have crashed at the speed I was traveling, especially on the downhills, but I had wings wrapped around me that kept me rubber side down. Now I know it won’t always be like that, but for TODAY, I will take it, thanks Dad 🤘🏾👍🏾💪🏾..
