Four c-sections and one Mommy-makeover later here we are! Today I am 1 week and 4 days out of what was one of the biggest decisions of my life. @drmikechiodo (and of course our committee of @bridget x @harveynh) have been discussing this for two years and I finally committed. @drmikechiodo and I went back and forth on this procedure countless times esp bc I kept trying to modify bc I was afraid of the recovery and long scar which he got. He truly is the most amazing doctor I could cry - he is patient, kind, insightful, realistic and always available for any questions or concerns. I never felt like a burden to him - he made me feel safe and understood all of my fears going into this as a mother. So let's get into it. 1.) Procedure: 2 mins before I went into the OR I called out to Mike and said - ok let's do what you are proposing, I don't want to go through all this to wake up and not be happy with my results. Abdominoplasty (he gently sewed two inches of my stomach muscle separation together, he didn't do too tight bc I didn't want my stomach to look too tight), he removed 6 inches of skin from my stomach (I was shocked) and was able to make my previous c-section scar lower than it was (it now goes hip to hip) and gave me the cutest little belly button I have ever seen. The first time I saw it I cried bc it had been years since I like my belly button, Breast Lift and implant exchange (400 cc, under muscle, Motiva (change every 20 years) full round - before I had tear-drop), Lipo 360 (he got out about 5-6 pounds of fat which is insane), fat transfer to my face! So here we are! Anesthesia: @drmikechiodo has the best in show in Dallas. This man called me the night before and was just the best which was important to me. The morning of the surgery I was not scared at all. It's not often a good friend gets to operate on you - which helps, but his surrounding team was all amazing. I walked into the OR and we put my Rosary under the pillow and before they put me under Mike and I said and prayer and I felt protected. Post-op: As important as your surgeon and their anesthesiologist is your post-op care. Waking up was awful for me. (More in comments)
