Every time I complete a climb, I like to sit at the top, decompress, and enjoy the view. It helps ground me as I post up 100’s of feet above sea level. I’m getting the perspective of a bird, a kite, an agile lizard, spiderman! I wouldn’t be seeing what I am seeing unless I had made this wonderful and treacherous journey up the rock. This life is long. Some days go down in the books smooth as butter and other days I feel like I’m going down a slide made of sandpaper. I’m learning to hold space for the good and bad in life. I’m leaning into the complexities involved with navigating young adulthood, womanhood, and my early career as a freelance filmmaker. When I feel overwhelmed I just try my best to take a look around and appreciate the beauty of having a place to sleep, people to love, and food to eat.
