TOMORROW is the last day to see "querencia" by artist Amanda Martínez! Join us for a special event in honor of Latinx Heritage Month and the closing day of "querencia." Hosted by Amanda Martínez and Lucía Rodríguez, an hora de cuentos will be held, which will make space for all to share and listen to Latinx stories. The event will take place tomorrow, October 1, at 4pm.
"Step forms are a constructed part of the ancient past, but also something we ascend and descend daily without a thought. As a sculptor I look to the graduated step for its timelessness; the elegance of its formal simplicity. There is a reason it can be found spanning sites from ancient earthworks to Mexican Modernism. Manera means “way” and in the broad philosophical framework that “way” implies, I wanted to contemplate the ability of a form used for millennia to divide and fortify; but also to balance and to connect."-- Amanda Martínez
