Yesterday ice melted. I served raspados to strangers, friends, workers, families, children & passersby. Some stopped for sweetness, some stopped for the message and in that moment we melted ICE together. I brought a block of ice engraved with the text “F*** ICE” on a raspado (shaved ice) food cart. Then placed it in front of the immigration courthouse at Federal Plaza 📍, facing the powers that cage and deport. A sharp blade, grit, and heat turned the block into sweet resistance. The street drank the message. This was my offering. Free raspados in the summer heat. A ceremony, a protest, a prayer and blessing made public.
