My Dad used to come back from business trips to France in the 80s and talk about his amazing dining experiences at La Tour d’Argent.
He’d work on trying to recreate dishes at home and even tried to buy a duck press for a local restaurant for duck a la presse dinners in trade! We never got to go to his favorite restaurant together until @_tfl_ hosted @latourdargentparis for a collaboration series in Yountville. An amazing evening getting to connect old stories and share a night with my Dad who’s been a real force in my life and the biggest supporter of my wanting to become a chef. In life and in the kitchen I try and take his always teaching spirit to heart.
Thank you to @chefthomaskeller @chef_davidbreeden @michaelminnillo For so graciously creating such a special evening for us. It reminds me what great restaurants strive to do, create memories and connect people through genuine hospitality. Sometimes it’s good to be on the receiving end and think about what it means to be on the giving end.
