The passage of time is a deeply complex concept. ⏰ Children typically don’t know what “before” and “after” mean until they’re about 4 years old. And, your child won’t grasp the meaning of yesterday, today, and tomorrow with the same accuracy that you do until age 7. So, the instruction, “wait five minutes,” doesn’t mean much to them. 🤷 That said, you can communicate limits and expectations about time by using terms like “first” and “then,” just like @Gigi Positive Parenting does in this video. At this age, children are learning that time is always flowing and that it has rhythms and patterns. Using sequence-related language helps lay the groundwork for your child’s growing understanding of time. 🧠 Have you tried doing this with your little one? 🤔 #Lovevery #TellingTime #ToddlerTips
