I didn’t really know him. In our limited interactions, I usually got the sense he didn’t think very highly of me. Which was fair. Once when I was new, I read him a really earnest bit of writing and he told me he thought it was beautiful. He said it in a way that made me believe it too. I think that was his real power. It’s one I wish more people had. ✨
