I got emotional as I stood backstage watching the First Lady @laurawbush introduce me. I have no idea how a little Somali immigrant girl, growing up in public housing in Norway got to be invited by the American First Lady to share and read my book on stage. It was as though I could see a glimpse of my childhood playing in my head and heart. I never could have dreamt about this moment and suddenly here I am— living it.
