A rendition of my favorite villain of 2022, Jobu Tupaki, honored by a lengthy caption for my loyal readers<3 It was nearly impossible to pick a favorite look as she had so many iconic moments throughout the film - however the impact of this scene continuously brought me to tears. I can relate to Jobu in many ways, watching the dynamic between her & her mother was almost as if I was finding peace within my own unresolved issues w/ my mom. I respect a movie so much that humbles us & puts things into perspective - As there are so many unsaid things I wish I would have said, sometimes when I watch this movie it feels like she’s here with me... so what’s understood doesn’t have to be explained because we are all Everything, Everywhere, All At Once. There is an underlying theme, “Nothing Matters” - & the more mature I become the more I understand how to appreciate this concept. How we all are guilty of putting too much emphasis on things that hold no actual value (which can create stress, anxiety, etc) & in doing so we take away from the bliss of enjoying life in its simple most beautiful form. This perspective continuously liberates me. When Nothing Matters, there is no fear of failure - or coming in first or best. People are neither good nor bad or famous or important - Everything just is. Food for thought as I’m never completely sold on any one concept just admiring them for what they are. I do however believe in the infinite which makes worry of the material world become so minescule. 10/10 Watch this movie! It’s golden w/ many different perspectives beyond the mother daughter dynamic, unexpectedly hilarious, & definitely costume inspo if you’re looking for some originals ideas. Happy October!
