Discover the latest evolution of #ArepasyTamales in Venice! As part of Oscar Murillo’s @lacachepli solo exhibition A Storm is Blowing from Paradise at the Scuola Grande della Misericordia, Venice, visitors can enter collective conscience (2022), an immersive room 📟 in which the #arepasytamales wearable sculptures 🪡 created by Murillo have been transformed into digital avatars. Visitors can ‘try-on’ the garments which react and follow their movements, 💃🏿 surrounded by video projections including crops from @frequenciesinstitute canvases and footage of traditional mateo papier-mâché figures from Colombia 🇨🇴. Each of the wearables incorporates drawings by school students collected during Murillo’s global collaborative project Frequencies. Murillo imagines the wearables as ‘spiritual shields’ which capture optimism and possibility. ✨ #StormFromParadise
