Andar was formed thinking of what role artists can have during this climate. Living and working in Laguna, it is important for me to share Art to this community as to offer perspectives of what Art could be and to establish the value of artistic/cultural labor. It is also crucial to re-define our collective response to the actualities regarding our citizenship of this country that is to activate. It was a strategic attempt that costed a lot of money, but observing the impulses of people who are on stand by to watch or just get a glimpse of the images/words flashed on the LED screen was worth it! With the couple of public presentations Cultivating a Garden produced, it's exciting to meet other creatives who live within the proximity of our location - we're motivated to gather and do more projects in the future! There are still a lot to learn on how to organize artistic projects involving the larger communities we're part of... Ngunit naging matiwasay ang pag-andar ng proyektong ito dahil sa tulong ni Abbey Batocabe bilang Project Coordinator. Maraming salamat Abbey sa inilaan mong oras, dedikasyon at pasensya para sa Andar! We also thank Arabella Paner for leading the documentation for this project, along with Joe Carlo Cantos as intern. We hope to continue this educational aspect in organizing these artistic projects! To Paul Anthony Symon Cantos for letting us use one of his garages in Iron Macchina Customs as our ground for Andar.
