Friends, My newest record and heaviest effort to date, 'Everywhere I Used To Be' is out on @birthdaycakerecords now. I've been striving for the words to explain what this group of songs means to me, from their inception to the studio recordings. I spent long hours with them, wrestling with being seen this way. I laughed at self-fulfilling satire and poked fun at the lines of country music I've gotten comfortable playing with throughout my career. In a genre sometimes marred by its unwillingness to push for change, my intention with making a synth/pop-country record was definitely pointed. I wanted to blur the old and new, to paint with the colours I had blended over years of learning to become a songwriter, and more than that, a music fan.
