Weekend vibes from the Azer Forest - North Lebanon ☀️🪵✨ The squirrels 🐿 helped planting this forest 🥰 It is one of the oldest forests in Lebanon and you can find stones engraving from the days of the Emperor Adrianos asking people not to cut the trees because they are the Gods’ habitats ✨ غابة العَذِر زرعوها السناجب 🐿 والعذر هو من أضخم أنواع شجر السنديان، وبيوصل طوله إلى ثلاثين متر، ورغم أن الاسم عربي هوي بيعني بالآرامية "العامود الرئيسي"، وذلك نسبة لضخامة جذع الشجرة يللي بتعمر آلاف السنين. غابة العذر هي من أقدم غابات لبنان وتحوي على صخور تحمل كتابات ونقوش بتعود الى القرن الثاني ق.م. حقبة الإمبراطور أدريانوس: وبتحمل هذه الصخور كتابات تحذّر من قطع الأشجار دائمة الخضرة “لأنها مساكن لأرواح الآلهة”.
