It’s been close to 5 years since I released any music under my own name. Whilst most of you probably know me for my work with Jorja Smith or Maisha, I have always been slowly writing my own music in the background. I don’t often share it with the world, largely because of the constant battle I have between loving it and then hating it. After years of sitting on my music I decided that I would finally put something out this year, but sadly 2020 ruined my plans for a proper release. • Recently though I was asked by @brainchildfest to record a short set for their first online DIGS and I thought it would be the perfect opportunity and space to debut some of the material I’ve been making behind closed doors for so long. I owe a lot to Brainchild festival, Marina Blake (@marinasblake) and the whole team for my development as a musician and for creating a safe space for everyone to express themselves in the most joyous environment.
