Every year... an extraordinary community of people gathers for Awake in the New Year, my annual New Year's Retreat at Esalen Institute in Big Sur. This retreat is epic. There's something about taking time at the year's end to reflect and listen deeply, to meditate, to to be guided through a process of setting conscious intentions for ourselves and our world that is deeply life-affirming. The container of support and friendship created through this experience is incredible, and I offer accountability throughout the year for our heart's intentions. Both long-time meditators and those new to practice are welcome... introverts and extroverts... there is room for all of it in the spaciousness of retreat. This is not a silent retreat, but includes silence... This is not solely a meditation retreat, we also dance and engage in relational mindfulness... There is plenty of spacious time to commune with nature and to meditate.
