I’ve always loved this pic. Five years ago, I had just landed in LA (via Berlin). I was -like so many of us are when we arrive- wide eyed and eager to jump in. I hadn’t even completed my degree from @nyuniversity yet. I remember a late night party w/ @psychedelichedonism @rumerwillis where a fog had rolled in over mullholland and I couldn’t believe I was finally on my way. I remember being on set every day w @alittleghost doing any job I could to make friends and get working (whatever that meant) and one day @bethgrantactor (who’s now a good friend) tellin me the best way to become an actor is to “not go home”. Advice I STILL relay to anyone just starting their journey in this field. I remember goin to what I consider the weirdest party ever w/ @colesprouse and @alittleghost but it being great because we met our favorite Londoners @dino.kel @jan.uddin and @phoebedynevor. (Afterward I got so stoned I was afraid to watch an Eddie Murphy vampire movie) I remember Wednesdays at @officialmoonlightrollerway and watchin John C. Reilly skate like the roller angel he is 👼 I remember @awwwwstin picking me up from my apartment downtown (graciously lent to me by @notgeorgia) and long drives to set. I remember riding horses w/ @alistepka and dinners at casa de @matthewguion and @charlbi143 I remember @jessica.alyse_ sneakin me free coffee (which I could barely afford anyway) I remember the kindness of strangers. The uncertainty mixed w/ tangible excitement. I remember the flame of optimism. I keep that flame protected because there are always reasons to become jaded. I remember @nickisruff @cailinlowry @brandsomer @prince_audren and @ericaortizz and @sethmaxwell1 and @panamgotham 🤖❤️👹 @rebecaproenza there’s probably more stuff I’m forgetting, like the name of the photog who snapped this pic.
